Striving to improve care given to older Adults by connecting

nursing professionals across diverse care settings at all levels of care

Congratulations to the Northwest Chapter of the National Nursing Association (NW NGNA) first annual Professional Development Scholarship awardees!

This was an incredibly competitive review process, and speaks to the growing numbers of nursing professionals who are striving to improve care given to older adults. Originally we had planned to offer 2 scholarships, but the response to our offer was so remarkable, and the applications were so inspiring that the Board decided to award the scholarships to 4 applicants!

It is our pleasure to announce the four scholarship awardees:

Claire Richards of Seattle, WA; Currently 2nd year Doctoral student at the University of Washington School of Nursing

Jeremy Frazier of Lacey, WA; Currently in 11th grade and enrolled in New Markets Nursing School

Kelly Ranes of Graham, WA; Currently in the RN to BSN program at Saint Martin's University

Seungeun Park of Seattle, WA; Currently in PhD program at the University of Washington; School of Nursing

The NW NGNA is delighted to support these professionals in the development of their gerontology career interests. This part of the Association’s Mission is supported by building strong local and national networks between clinicians, educators, researchers, and students.
